Barcelona’s Festes de Santa Eulàlia 2025: Tradition and Music

Every February, Barcelona celebrates the Festes de Santa Eulàlia, honoring one of its patron saints. This winter festival blends tradition, culture, and community spirit, making it a highlight of the year.

A Historic and Cultural Celebration

The festival pays tribute to Santa Eulàlia, a young martyr of the 4th century, symbolizing resilience and faith. The city’s streets come alive with:

  • Gegants parades – giant figures in historical processions
  • Castellers – human towers displaying teamwork
  • Correfocs – fire runs with costumed devils and fireworks
  • Open-house days at museums and iconic landmarks

This year also marked the 650th anniversary of l’Àliga de la Ciutat, a key figure in Barcelona’s civic celebrations.
