Who we are

Shine Music Rental (part of The Shine Collective) rents musical instruments and sound equipment in Spain. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. For anything privacy-related, contact us at info@shinemusicrental.com.

What data we collect

• Bookings and orders: your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery address, and the details of your rental.
• Identification: a copy of your passport or ID document, required when you collect an instrument (see our Terms and Conditions).
• Payments: processed by Stripe or PayPal. We never see or store your full card details.
• Enquiry forms and quotes: the contact details and event information you submit.
• Newsletter: your email address, only if you subscribe.
• Technical data: IP address, browser and device information, and cookie data when you browse this site.

Why we use it (legal basis)

• To fulfil your rental — bookings, delivery, deposits, returns and support (performance of a contract).
• To protect our instruments — ID verification and deposits (legitimate interest).
• To meet legal obligations — invoicing, accounting and tax records.
• To send the newsletter — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link.
• To improve the site — analytics (consent, via cookies).

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the service providers needed to run this business: payment processors (Stripe, PayPal), our hosting provider, delivery personnel, and Google (analytics via Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics). We never sell your data. Where providers are outside the EEA, transfers rely on EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

• Order and invoicing data: as long as Spanish tax and commercial law requires (generally up to 6 years).
• ID copies: deleted once the rental has ended and the deposit has been returned.
• Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
• Enquiries that don’t become bookings: up to 12 months.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and Spanish data protection law (LOPDGDD), you can request access to, rectification or erasure of your data, restriction of or objection to its processing, and portability. Write to info@shinemusicrental.com and we will respond within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish supervisory authority, the AEPD (www.aepd.es).

Cookies

This site uses essential cookies (cart, session, language) and, with your consent, analytics cookies set through Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Security

The site runs over SSL/TLS encryption, payments are handled by PCI-DSS-compliant processors, and access to personal data is limited to the people who need it to serve you.

If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with an updated date.
